In the myths of the ancient Egyptians, a scarabaeus was the personification of the supernatural viviparous forces of nature. The Egyptians believed that a stubborn and purposeful beetle was born out of nothing and therefore was like a deity, much like the oldest solar god Hepri and other gods, the creators of man, the world, and the universe, which arose on their own. It is no accident that the god Hepri was often portrayed with the head of a scarab beetle.
