It is one of the most common deified animals – the symbol of the gods and their messenger in the mythologies of various nations of the world. The earliest stage of the Eagle cult is reflected in those mythologies where the Eagle acts as an independent character (originally, probably, of totemic origin). Polynesian mythology is one of them.
