Description:
The dragon is the oldest symbol that we can observe in almost all mythologies. It symbolizes the mysteries of life, in which good and evil, life and death, eternal and temporary, are intertwined. Its symbolism is ambivalent: it can be solar and lunar, male and female, kind and evil.
Combining in their appearance the features of different animals – the wings of a bird, the tiger’s paws, the neck of a snake, the horns of a deer, dragons symbolize the unity of the four elements. It lives in the bowels of the earth or the depths of the waters, flies through the air and spouts fire. But more often the dragon is depicted as a combination of a bird and a snake.
This embroidery design presents a somewhat abstract representation of the dragon’s head.
