Description:
In recent years, Celtic knots have experienced a new revival, but most of the created images are copies of historical knots. Still, there are several artists who relate to the subject with more seriousness and create new interesting knots. By digitizing this embroidery design we attempted to create our own rendition of this wonderful ornament.
The meaning of Celtic arts is very mysterious. These fascinating artifacts should be investigated at a very deep level and, most likely, the answer should be sought in the spiritual books and images that the Celtic knots adorned.
A continuous loop signifies themes of eternity, dependence on one another. And the knot, perhaps, bore a purpose of shielding its owner from evil forces. The interwoven figures of people or fantastic animals, such as griffins, perhaps, represented the interconnectedness of lives in nature.
