In ancient Chinese mythology and natural philosophy, Yin Yang is a symbol of the creative unity of opposites in the universe. It is depicted as a circle, an image of infinity, divided by a wavy line into two halves – dark and light. Two points are symmetrically located inside the circle – a light one on a dark background and the dark one on a light background. This means that each of the two great forces of the universe bears the start of the opposite beginning in itself. The dark and bright fields, denoting yin and yang respectively, are symmetrical, but this symmetry is not static. It assumes constant movement in a circle.

A yin-yang symbol depicted in this embroidery design is a bit modified and unconventional but still is great-looking.
